Locked up by his parents
(2/16/98) Hooray for the government. It actually protected, rather than violated, someone's rights. Two parents in Jacksonville, Florida, allegedly chained their son to his bed to prevent him from leaving their home.

The victim, Nicholas Peace, said his parents should go to jail. "I'm 18 years old, and I'm allowed to be out of the house if I want. I felt like an animal chained up," he said.

The police arrested the couple after he complained to his high school administration. Luckily, the chained-up person is over 18 so his parents can't send him away to a "concentration camp."
