1997 San Diego Curfew Protests |
 |
(8/25/97) More than 70 protesters marched through the Gas Lamp in downtown San Diego. It was an awesome sight. The high attendance proves that people have faith in the campaign. Though the chanting was loud, there was no physical or verbal violence. We are all extremely proud that the march remained peaceful and orderly.
By maintaining a peaceful demeanor, we are showing San Diego that honest Americans are victims of the curfew. Without our protests, many people cannot be expected to realize the negative impact of the curfew. How can one know if one's action is harmful if the unintended victim does not complain? Our complaint was loud and clear in the Gas Lamp. And thanks to M-TV News, our voices will echo across the nation.
